Create Custom Packaging

No matter where you are there are always going to be little mom and pop shops and small business trying to compete with the big guys for your business. It is often their attention to the little details and personal touches that bring customers in to such shops and make them loyal customers. One downfall so to speak of being a small business owner, is the limited budget you have compared to big businesses to advertise your company and put your brand out there. One cost efficient way to brand your products is with packaging using custom decals!

How many times have you gone to the store only to stand there looking at 20 different options of what kind of potato chips to buy? You may also notice that it’s those big name brands whose products catch your eye first, mostly because of their packaging. With bright colors and bold text, it’s hard not to be drawn in to their brand. This just goes to show how important it is to make your product stand out in a sea of similar items.

Most of you are probably thinking. “Packaging is expensive!”, but it doesn’t have to be! There are tons of companies out there that offer plain boxes or bags at low prices, they also have multiple size and color options which means you can choose the product that best suits your needs. Once you have chosen your base for packaging, it’s time to get creative!

Many decal makers offer bulk pricing as low as 5-10 cents per sticker which I must say is quite the deal. If you have a series of products in different flavor, color, or scent options it may be easiest to do 2 sets of decals, one for your brand, (think BETTY’S SOAPS), and one for each different option (lavender, honey, etc.). When creating your decal, be sure to use colors which coordinate with your packaging as well as logo and product. You don’t want calm, soothing colors in your logo with lime green packaging, that would just be contradictory and show customers that you don’t have a cohesive brand
